Publication Division is a part of Dibrugarh University. It was constituted as per the recommendation of the 305th meeting of the Executive Council, Dibrugarh University, held on 12.12.2010 as an autonomous unit to promote the University’s mission by publishing books on original subjects, thoughts and ideas at the highest levels of excellence. Its objective is to keep its readers informed of what is best thought and known in the world. It will translate into Assamese the books regarded as classics in different fields of human activities. An important mandate of the Division is to provide an impetus to the academics and intellectuals of the University for creative, critical and original writings. It intends to create an intellectual platform for the North Eastern region of the country to interface the outer world. Under the guidance of an Advisory Committee consisting of renowned authors and scholars it has started various projects from July, 2012 and brought out a few titles till date. As the Division is committed to language, literature and culture of this region, it has brought out a series of books on Men of Letters of Assam like Anundoram Borooah, Jyotiprasad Agarwala, etc. Another series of books have also been published on the Men of Science like Galileo Galilei, Louis Pasteur, Max Planck, etc. It can legitimately be hoped that in future more and more titles will be added to this list of the Men of Letters and the Men of Science.
