Dibrugarh University has celebrated World Environment Day-2024 in association with Dibrugarh University Research Scholars’ Association (DURSA) at Bishnupur Tekjuri High School, Dhemaji on 5th of June, 2024. The program has started with planting of trees. Mrs. Mamoni Baruah, Headmistress, Bishnupur Tekjuri High School, Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar, Dibrugarh University has started the program in the presence of Dhwajen Sonowal, Estate Officer, Dr. Surajit Konwer, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Pranjit Kalita, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Geology, Dr. Kaushik Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DUIET, Lengdon Handique, Dimonjyoti Bora, President, DURSA along with other core committee members of DURSA, all the students and teachers of Bishnupur Tekjuri High School, Dhemaji. Then the meeting was started with a chorus performed by student of Class VI followed by a felicitation program. Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, registrar, has delivered a speech and encourage the students to make a better future. Dr. Surajit Konwer was chief speaker of the meeting. He delivered the speech on the topic “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience: Our land. Our future. We are Generation Restoration”. Students of the school also performed traditional dance performances. At the last of the meeting Dipen Tamuli. Assistant Teacher offered the vote of thanks.
