NSS PG Unit volunteer organized a series of programmes at Kanubari, Arunachal Pradesh, during Puja Vacation

On the 14th and 15th of October, the“POSHAN BHI PADHAI BHI” programme was organised at the Anganwadi Centre of Linglam Rusa village. We have discussed with Anganwadi workers theimportance of foundation education to the children of Anganwadi students. The Gaon Bura of Ranglua village was also present in this programme.

On 16th October, the “FREE PLASTIC VILLAGEAWARENESS” programme was organized at Sangsatham village. With the collaboration of the Village Student Union, the village’s SHG, and the villagers, we have put more than 15 Bamboo Dustbins within the village area. We have counselled the villagers on the importance of a “free plastic zone”, the causes of plastic pollution and the benefits of a free plastic zone. On the same day, a “CLEANLINESS DRIVE ASWELL AS SWACCHATA HI SEVA” was also conducted at the weekly market of Tiru village. On 17th October a “CAREER COUNSELING” programme was organised at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Kanubari. We have invited K.Yadav, IAS officer, Batch 2021, as a resource person. He works as an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kanubari Circle. He really inspired class 11 and 12 students. On 18th October, the BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO awareness programme was organized at Govt, Sec school, Ranglua. We have been invited as a resource person P. Wangcha. On 19th October, a PLANTATION DRIVE was organised at the Community Health Centre of Kanubari in collaboration with CHC staff. A Medical Officer (M.O) also took part in the plantation Drive. The plants are provided by the Forest Department of Kanubari and handed over by the Range Forest Officer of Kanubari. The theme of the programme was “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. Amar Upadhyaya, programme officer of the NSS PG Unit, Dibrugarh University. One of the active volunteers of the unit, Mr. Joseph Wangjen, led the programme.
