The NSS PG Unit, Dibrugarh University, organised an Awareness Programme on the theme ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ as a part of the ongoing 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah,2024 on 21st September 2024 at the Borpather Girls’ High School, Dibrugarh. The programme aimed at educating the students about the importance of healthy eating habits and a balanced diet for the body and mind of young children. An interactive session with the students was held as a part of the programme. Dr. Minakshi Puzari, Assistant Professor at the Department of Lifesciences, Dibrugarh University, was invited as the Guest Speaker. She delivered an informative talk on ‘ The link between Nutritious Food and Better Academic Performance’. Following this, Dr. Himadri Barman, Assistant Professor at the Center for Management Studies and Assistant Programme Coordinator of the DU NSS PG Unit, interacted with the participating students. He gave an insight into the importance and future scope of physical fitness, sports and entrepreneurship. The event also included an art competition conducted among the students of classes 3 to 7. Moreover, an essay writing competition was also organised for the students of classes 8 to 10. The theme of both the competition was ‘Balanced Diet’. Both contests saw overwhelming participation. Prizes were distributed among the winners on the spot. The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. Amar Upadhyaya, Programme Officer, NSS PG Unit, DU. Senior volunteer Samiran Bhattacharya and other Department of Life Sciences volunteers delicately worked for the programme’s success.
