A Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament named “Boundary Blitz 1.0” was organized by Dibrugarh University Research Scholars’ Association 2024-25 on 18th and 19th of May, 2024. The event has been organized to provide an excellent opportunity for faculty members, employees, and research scholars to showcase their cricketing skills, engage in friendly competition, and interact with colleagues from various departments. Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika inaugurated the tournament in presence of Mr. Ruhini Buragohain (Senior Assistant Registrar), Dr. Mantu Baro, (Director i/c, Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports), faculty, staff, research scholars and students of various departments of Dibrugarh University. Total 10 teams have participated in the tournament and Physical and Chemical Science gained the trophy by beating Social Science and Humanities and Law in the final. Hon’ble Dean, Student Affairs, Prof Surajit Borkotokey and Dr. Nomi Baruah, HoD, CSE, DUIET and many other dignitaries were present in the prize distribution ceremony. At the end of the program, Dimonjyoti Bora, President, DURSA, offer the vote of thanks to the Dibrugarh University administration, faculty and research scholars from various departments, all the well-wishers, Dibrugarh University Sports board, Security Department and specially the students from Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports, who have helped for the successful completion of the tournament. DURSA has planned to arrange this tournament every year and both the champions and runners up trophy will be a running trophy. The champions trophy has been donated by Mr. Ruhini Buragohain in the beloved memory of his father and runners up trophy has been donated by Dr. Nomi Baruah.
In conjunction with this, a cleanliness drive is also organized by DURSA on the morning of May 20, 2024, at the Old Playground.
