On 10th May, 2024 Dibrugarh University organised a ‘Model United Nations’ in collaboration with Yuvamanthan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the theme ‘Lifestyle for Environment’ at the Indira Miri Conference Hall, Dibrugarh University. The inaugural ceremony started with a felicitation ceremony followed by speeches from the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jiten Hazarika, Professor Surajit Borkotokey, Dean, Student Affairs, Professor Deb Kumar Chakraborty, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Kaustubh Deka, Faculty Coordinator, Yuvamanthan-Dibrugarh University. Students of various Departments and Centres of Dibrugarh University represented various member states of the UN as delegates and took part in multiple sessions towards drafting a resolution on the agenda of ‘Accelerating Global Climate Action Finance Towards Net-Zero Emissions by 2050.’
