On 10 May, 2024, Dibrugarh University Officers’ Association(DUOA) organized a health awareness programme on “Ovarian Cancer and Related Issues” in association with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Pvt. Limited. The programme was inagurated by Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dibrugarh University. Dr. Duncan Khanikar, MD(Medicine), DM(Medical Oncology) graced the occasion as the resource person.
The programme started with the felicitaion of guests followed by the welcome address by Mr. Monuj Kumar Tamuli, President, DUOA. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, in his inaugural speech underscored the significance of such initiatives, lauding DUOA for spearheading this endeavor. Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar of Dibrugarh University, also graced the occasion with his presence.
Dr. Khanikar, the resource person, adeptly elucidated various facets of cancer, particularly ovarian cancer, encompassing its causes, preventive measures, and treatment modalities. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a diverse audience comprising teachers, officers, employees, research scholars and students of Dibrugarh University.
Towards the end of the programme, Dr. Gunadeep Chetia, General Secretary, DUOA offered vote of thanks. Dr. Jituranjan Chetia, Department of Chemistry anchored the proceedings, ensuring a seamless flow of events.
