Dibrugarh University signed two MoUs on 05.04.2024.
The first MoU was signed with the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi, in virtual mode. NRDC was established in 1953 by the Government of India, with the primary objective to promote, develop and commercialize the technologies/know-how/inventions/patents/processes emanating from various national R&D institutions / Universities and is presently working under the administrative control of the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dibrugarh University Prof. Jiten Hazarika, and on behalf of the university, Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar, signed the MoU. Prof. Dipak Chetia, Dean, R&D; Dr. Pankaj Chetia, Secretary, IPR Cell; Dr. Abhijit Boruah, Convener, CTII, and Sri Devraj Sarmah, PILO, also represented Dibrugarh University. From the NRDC side, Commodore Amit Rastogi (Retd), the CMD, and other officials attended the meeting in virtual mode. This MoU will facilitate the innovators of Dibrugarh University in patenting and commercializing their innovations.
In the same meeting, the second MoU was signed between Dibrugarh University and the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T)’s Centre of Excellence for Bioresource and Sustainable Development. Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh. On behalf of the university, Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar signed the MoU in the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Prof. Dipak Chetia, Dean, R&D, Prof. B. B. Kakoty, Dr. Pankaj Chetia, Dr. Biman Bhuyan, Dr. Minakshi Puzari, Dr. Abhisek Dasgupta, Dr. Rasmita Khatonier and Sri Devraj Sarmah. On behalf of the DBT Centre of Excellence, Dr. Debojeet Mahanta, Director, signed the MoU, and other scientists and officials from the center Er. S.K. Pathak, Dr. Sanjeeb Kalita, and Ms. Bamang Megu were also present. This MoU signing will help both the institutes in collaborative research and teaching.
