The Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports, Dibrugarh University observed AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Women’s Football Day to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024 in colourful manner, successfully at Dibrugarh University. On this occasion, a talk was organized on the theme “Women Empowerment”. Dr. Aradhana Borthakur, Assistant professor of the Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University, delivered a splendid motivational, informative speech on the topic “More Equality, More Hope”. A friendly women’s football tournament was organized with the intention of empowering female students of the university. Prof. Neeta Kalita Barua, Dean Faculty of Education and Chairperson, Centre for Applied Psychology graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the match. On this auspicious occasion, students of the centre, Ms. Dharitri Saikia and Ms. Supriya Sonowal was also felicitated for their outstanding achievements in the Taekwondo and Sqay Martial Arts National championship respectively. The entire programme was organized by the female students of the Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports, Dibrugarh University.
