Yuva Samvad – India@2047, a program of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, was organized by NSS PG Unit, Dibrugarh University in collaboration with NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University making it a resounding success. Prof. Surajit Borkotokey, Dean Student Affairs and Prof. Devid Kardong, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, D.U. have grace the inaugural session of the program as the chief guests and shared some invaluable insights for the participants. Dr. Amar Upadhayay, Programme Officer, NSS PG Unit, D.U. welcomes the participants with a thought provoking speech. Dr. Upadhyaya during his speech also took the pledge of “Panch Pran” along with all the participants. Total 100 volunteers from 8 different colleges of Dibrugarh District and Dibrugarh University have shown their active involvement and enthusiastic participation in the event. As a part of the Yuva Samvad – India@2047, a group speech competition among the volunteers was organized, where Dr. Manashree Chetia of Centre for studies in Philosophy, D.U. and Dr. Jitu Borah of Department of Assamese, D.U. have acted as the judge of the competition. The active involvement and enthusiastic participation of the participants made the competition tough and fascinating and finally NSS PG Unit of D.U., NSS units of DHSK and Dibru College secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The NSS unit of the Tengakhat College has been awarded with the judge’s special award for their outstanding performance. The Programme was coordinated by Dr. Pranjit Kalita of Department of Applied Geology, D.U. and around 20 volunteers from Dibrugarh University itself have tirelessly give efforts for smooth conduct of the event. The program was successfully ended with the vote of thanks shared by Ms. Trishamoyee Borah, an active volunteer of the DU NSS PG Unit.
