To commemorate the life and contribution of late Professor Annada Charan Bhagabati, the Second Annada Charan Bhagabati Annual Memorial Lecture was organized by the Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University, on 26th October, 2022 on his third death anniversary. Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, was invited as the distinguished speaker. He spoke on ‘What an Ethnographic Museum can do in the 21st Century?’ Prof. Chaudhuri highlighted the relevance and importance of museums in preserving, revitalizing, and reliving the cultures of India. In this regard, he also shared specific stories, the history of the museum movement in India, and the role played by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal. The program started with a welcome address by Prof. Nitul Kumar Gogoi, Head, Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University, followed by Lighting of Lamp and Floral Tribute to Late. Prof. Annada Charan Bhagabati by the members present. Prof. S. C. Kakaty, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Dibrugarh University, graced the occasion as chairperson of the program. A booklet covering the First Annada Charan Bhagabati Annual Memorial Lecture was released and disseminated during the event. Eminent academicians from around India and the family of late Professor Annada Charan Bhagabati attended the program live through online platform.
