Commemorating the Assamese cultural icon Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala, Silpi Divas was observed at Dibrugarh University on 17th January, 2022.
Following all the covid-19 related protocols, a minimal number of people, including teachers, officers and employees, gathered at the office premises of Academic Branch, DU to mark the death anniversary of this great personality of Assam.
The event began with garlanding the portrait of the icon by Prof. Kalyan Bhuyan, Director, IQAC followed by others present there.
Dr. Binod Chandra Borah, Joint Registrar(Academic), highlighted the multifaceted contributions of Jyotiprasad Agarwala towards Assamese literature and culture.
Prof. Kalyan Bhuyan, Mr. Arinjit Hazarika, Mr. Ashim Borkotoky, Dr. Gunadeep Chetia and Mr. Jayanta Kumar Gogoi also addressed the gathering with a few lines about this great personality.
