National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Dibrugarh University in collaboration with NSS PG Unit, Dibrugarh University, organized One-Day Awareness Programme on SWACHHATA on 17th March 2021. More than 100 volunteers of NSS Units of different colleges under Dibrugarh University participated in the programme. The programme was funded by Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati and coordinated by Dr. Devid Kardong, Programme Coordinator of the NSS Cell and assisted by Dr. Amar Upadhyaya, Programme Officer of the PG Unit. The inauguration ceremony which was held at Indira Miri Conference hall with the presence of Prof. L. K. Nath, Vice Chancellor i/c, Dibrugarh University along with Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia, Principal, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Prof. Kalyan Bhuyan, Director of IQAC, Prof. Nirode Baruah, Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Himadri Barman, Dr. Devid Kardong, Dr. Amar Upadhyaya and Programme Officers of different NSS Units. A series of activities were conducted to empower the volunteers of all the units starting with a cleanliness drive in the University Campus, talk on Swachhata by Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia, Inter-NSS Units Power Point Presentation Competition on the theme of “Our best practices on Swachhtta” and Poster-making Competition among the University and College students. Dr. Shukla Acharjee, Asst. Professor, Centre for studies in Geography and Mr. Ujjal Saikia, Asst. Professor, Centre for Computer Science and Applications were the judges of the presentation competition. The programme ended with a prize giving ceremony. The Programme Officer, Dr. Amar Upadhyaya offered thanks to all the members of NSS Units and University family for their cooperation, support and guidance.
