A workshop on ‘Reservoir Simulation’ was organized by Society of Petroleum Engineers, Dibrugarh University Student Chapter in collaboration with Schlumberger from 7th to 22nd September, 2020 in virtual mode. The workshop commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Borkha Mech Das, Faculty Advisor, SPE DU SC and was inaugurated by Prof. Minati Das, Dean, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Energy, Dibrugarh University. Ms. Shreya Singh, Mr. Mahabir Prasad Mahapatra and Mr. Akshay Agarwal, dignitaries from Schlumberger provided a deep insight and overview of the workshop in the inaugural ceremony which ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Raj Krishna Saikia, President, SPE DU SC. The technical sessions of the workshop were primarily based on Geomodelling, Geophysics, Petrel RE, Eclipse, Geomechanics, Petrophysics, Seismic Interpretation and Well Testing which gave an informative insight on Reservoir Simulation with special emphasis on practical field approach. The technical sessions were presided by Ms. Khusboo Havelia, Mr. Mahabir Prasad Mahapatra, Ms. Shreya Singh, Mr. Parth Joshi, Mr. Akshay Agarwal, Mr. Vinil Kumar Reddy Mukku, Mr. Shivam Sharma, Mr. Shashank Pandey and Mr. Pranav Agarwal from Schlumberger. The sessions were moderated by Ms. Ananya Dutta, Ms. Nazrana Yasmin, Mr. Sharahnan Puzari, members of SPE DU SC and Mr. Anurag Borah, member of SPE DU SC monitored the technical aspects. The workshop saw an extensive participation of more than 150 attendees which included faculty members, students and research scholars of Dibrugarh University. The workshop ended with a delightful closing note by Dr. Borkha Mech Das, Faculty Advisor, SPE DU SC.
